Suffering from depression is one of the most difficult periods in one’s life. Fighting depression is not as easy as it may seem for people who have never experienced it.  The kinds of vitamins that you consume daily may have an effect on how you feel throughout the day. Studies have shown great improvements in people who included vitamins for depression in their daily diet. Trying to become active, choosing to live a more healthy lifestyle along with taking the right vitamins  is the perfect way to change your life for the better. Here is the list of vitamins that will help you fight depression:

Vitamin C – This antioxidant has proved to be helpful in many health related issues. Studies show that people who take vitamin C on a daily basis have a healthier mind than people who don’t. But that’s not the only benefit of this vitamin. It also helps to get rid of free radicals which otherwise can cause damage to your brain. People who take vitamin C have also been shown to be better at memorizing things and being able to think critically. If you take a daily dosage of vitamin C then it will be easier for you to focus on what’s really important instead of thinking about your insecurities. There is many ways in which you can get your intake of vitamin C. Many prefer to take a tablet daily but you can also get it from fruits and vegetables such as: apples, raspberries, cherries, spinach, garlic, kale, and grapes.

Vitamin B3 – Another important vitamin that you should definitely include in your daily diet is vitamin B3 or otherwise known as niacin. It helps to improve your blood flow which makes your brain more efficient. It lowers your cholesterol and helps to digest food more easily. People who take this vitamin have also noticed a decrease in symptoms of depression. But apart from helping you feel better it can also help you with your skin problems if you have any. It makes your skin look clearer and as result you will feel a lot more confident. Many foods contain niacin but among the most common are: tuna, lamb, chicken, mushrooms, and venison.

Vitamin B6 – This vitamin plays a very important role in the proper functioning of your brain. The main reason why it is good for you when you feel depressed is because it helps in creation of important amino acids such as serotonin and dopamine. Serotonin and dopamine brain are very important neurotransmitters which are responsible for your emotional state of mind. So whether you feel good or bad depends on the level of these neurotransmitters in your brain. You can get your daily intake of this vitamin by eating foods such as: bananas, beef, broccoli, porn, and spinach.

Vitamin B9 – Also known as folic acid, its use is important for controlling levels of a chemical called homocysteine which is a major contributor to feeling depressed. If you are deficient on this vitamin then you may have some serious mood problems that is why it is so important to make sure that you include this vitamin in your diet. Vitamin B9 can be found in foods such as: dried herbs, soybeans, bean sprouts, asparagus, and peanuts.

If you feel depressed then make sure that you include all of these vitamins in your diet. You can easily get all of them by changing the food that you eat on a daily basis. But if you feel that it something that would be too difficult to do then you can always take these vitamins in a form of supplements. Taking vitamins for depression is very crucial if you want to get rid of this problem and start living a more healthy life instead.
